NGO Registration brings credibility to NGO organization. NGO stands for Non-Governmental Organization and is a company that operates without any support of the government. The prime motive of such organizations is to work towards child education, care of the environment, a social agenda, welfare of public, wildlife and much more.

There are three kinds of NGO Registration in India. They are as follows:

2.       NGO Registration under Section 8 Company
3.       NGO Registration as a Society

How to process NGO Registration as a Trust?

There are a few states in India that have their own rules and regulations pertaining to the Trusts Acts in order to govern the trusts in those specific states. The states that don’t have any Trust Act, the provisions of the Indian Trust Act, 1882 will apply for them for Trust Registration.

Steps for NGO Registration
Ø  Choose a perfect name for your NGO but make sure it isn’t used any other organization
Ø  Identify the settler, minimum of two trustees, and a clarification of who would be the beneficiary
Ø  Prepare the MOA (Memorandum of Association) and by-laws
Ø  Draft a proper Trust Deed. Although it is not mandatory, it is always advisable.
Ø  Trust Deed must be drafted on the stamp paper of sufficient value based on the value of the property assigned to the Trust.
Ø  Finally, the last step would be to get the Trust Deed signed by all the trustees and settler and registered with the Local Registrar of the area in which the registered office of the NGO is located.

Documents required for NGO Registration
Ø  The details of trustee such as Name, Father’s Name, Age, Residential Address, Occupation, Contact Number, and Email Address with two latest photographs
Ø  Any address proof of the trustee and the settler such as Voter ID Card, Passport, or the Driving License.
Ø  Electricity Bill or Water Bill or House Tax Receipt or any proof of Ownership Property. If the applicant is living in the rented house, then he/she can provide a Rent Deed duly notarized with rent receipts and NOC from Landlord on an Rs. 10 stamp paper. To know more visit us at Swarit advisors.
